Model 3000 Current Velocity Meter-Flow Meter and the Model 2100 Current Velocity Meter

Swoffer Model 3000 Current Velocity Meter-Flowmeter       $
  • Read stream velocity directly from 0.5 to 25 feet (.152 to 7.5 meters) per second in Velocity mode
  • Records depths, widths, velocities, flow angles, time/date ("stations") in "Discharge" mode
  • Memory holds 1000 "stations" in up to 100 cross sections for later upload to a PC
  • Calculates discharge
  • Velocity sampling interval is user selectable from 1 to 999 seconds
  • Calibration ratings for 10 different sensor options are stored and can be edited
  • Powered by four AA size batteries
  • Designed to function with Price type AA and Pygmy meters with or without optic sensors
  • Can be easily field-calibrated to operate with any contact closure type sensor

  • Swoffer Model 2100 Current Velocity Meter    $

  • Read stream velocity directly from 0.5 to 25 feet (.152 to 7.5 meters) per second
  • Velocity displayed in either feet or meters per second
  • Three selectable pre-set display update times. 90 second maximum
  • Powered by a single standard 9V battery.
  • Uses the efficient, propeller-driven Photo-Fiber-Optic sensor pioneered by Swoffer in the 1970's
  • Precision quartz crystal controlled electronics provides accurate, precise data in all flow conditions

  • Wands
Wands are classified in three different categories; Combination, Top Set Wading, and Telescoping. All of these wands are designed for, and supplied with, the Swoffer line of current meters (see above).

(NOTE: Click on photos for a closer look at the product configurations)

    Combination $
Combination rods are designed to measure flows in faster, deeper water. These wands can be used from low bridges, boats, manholes, or while wading. The segmented 1" diameter thick-walled aluminum tube construction provides the rigidity to withstand higher flows. These rods are supplied with a Top Cap and direction pointer, a Slider (to hold the sensor) and a 2 1/2" diameter Foot.

    2100 or 3000-1514

  • 12' total length, 4 sections of 3' each
  • Hash marks are in feet and tenths of feet
  • Wand breaks down via stainless steel threaded fittings
  • Extra sections, with or without hash marks, are available
  • Sensor cable supplied is 25' in length.
  • 2100 or 3000-1518

  • 4 meters total length, 4 sections of 1 meter each
  • Hash marks are in meters with 5cm increments
  • Wand breaks down via stainless steel threaded fittings
  • Extra 1 meter sections, with or without hash marks are available
  • Sensor cable supplied is 25' in length.

  • Top Set Wading Rods $
6/10 Depth Method rods are designed to be used while wading in streams, waterways and channels. Stream depth is noted using the larger graduated rod, then the corresponding marks on the smaller rod are used to slide the sensor to 6/10 of the depth from the stream surface, a standard average velocity depth in shallow waters. Top-set wading rods shown differ only in their depth measurement capabilities.

    2100 or 3000-C140

  • Measures water depth to 140cm
  • Marks in 5 centimeter increments
  • 2100 or 3000-C80

  • Measures water depth to 80cm
  • Marks in 5 centimeter increments
  • Telescoping $
Telescoping wands are designed for reaching into shallow and partially obstructed man-made channels. Both length wands are supplied with the sensor on an 8 inch boom for easy reach into side sewers (a shorter, 2 inch boom is also available). Simple but rugged all-stainless hose clamps provide positive section locking with minimum field maintenance. A 2 1/2" diameter stainless steel depth probe with 1" dia. aluminum foot is supplied and can be attached to the bottom of the extended lower section. The depth probe is used for repeating measurements from a specific distance off the channel bottom. The probe has no hash marks. Enough connection cable to reach 5 ft. beyond maximum wand extension is provided.
